Jagex Launches Major Overhaul of RuneScape Player-Owned Housing

In-home gameplay utilities make houses functionally useful under Jagex's plan for regular updates.

Overview

  • The overhaul launched Monday, July 13, and the new Player-Owned Housing system is live for players to access across RuneScape.
  • Construction now caps at level 120 and includes a new furniture-crafting progression that replaces the old build-and-destroy training loop.
  • Homes offer deep customization with over 650 decorative items, five house styles, flexible room shapes, and free furniture placement.
  • A new Homestead system lets up to five players share a single plot, freely visit each other’s houses, and use shared facilities and public plots for larger gatherings.
  • Jagex has applied several post-launch fixes, is tracking dozens more issues such as furniture limits and the ability to move rooms, and says the feature will be expanded iteratively based on player feedback.
