Jacksonville Police Seek White Sedan in Killing of 6-Year-Old

Investigators say the child was shot inside a car.

  • Officers responding to reports of gunfire around 7:30 p.m. Sunday found a 6-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle on South Arkansas 161, and he later died at a hospital.
  • Police are now looking for a white sedan linked to the attack, and they shared a photo of the car on social media, Capt. Ryan Wright said Tuesday.
  • Detectives place the shooting itself in the 2000 block of Cloverdale Road, while the wounded child and two adults were discovered in the 4000 block of South Arkansas 161.
  • Investigators say the boy was in the vehicle when the shots were fired, and the two adults with him were not injured.
  • The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District said he was a kindergarten student and set up counseling at Jacksonville Elementary, and police asked anyone with information to call 501-982-3191.
