Italy’s April Car Sales Rise 11.6% as Electrified Share Jumps

State rebates are fueling demand for electrified cars.

  • January–April totals reached 640,083, up 9.8% versus 2025, though volumes remain more than 10% below 2019.
  • Battery-electric cars took an 8.5% share and plug-in hybrids 9.1% in April, lifting rechargeables to 17.6% on the back of state rebates and pricier fuel.

  • Stellantis outpaced the market with a 31.4% share as Chinese brands such as Leapmotor, BYD, MG, and Omoda/Jaecoo posted rapid gains.
