ITA Opens Record 200 Engineering Places for 2027 Entrance Exam

The expansion signals institutional growth through a new Fortaleza campus that will be paired with formal reserved quotas to widen access.

Overview

  • The Aeronáutica published the official edital, which opened registrations on Tuesday, allowing candidates to apply through July 12 with a R$195 fee paid by Pix or credit card.
  • The vestibular will offer 200 undergraduate engineering places split into 140 open-competition seats, 50 for Black candidates, six for Indigenous candidates and four for quilombolas.
  • The selection runs in three stages with fixed dates: a 48-question objective exam on September 27, written and discursive tests from October 20–23 and a health inspection plus quota verifications on January 10, 2027.
  • Eligibility rules require a completed high school and an age of at most 24 by December 31, 2027; first-phase tests will be applied in about 25 cities and exact third-stage logistics and heteroidentification dates will be published later.
  • The vacancy increase is linked to ITA’s planned Fortaleza campus and to wider access goals; admitted students may follow civilian careers or opt for a military track that leads to promotion to first lieutenant with a reported starting salary of R$9,004.
