- Speaking at a Jerusalem event marking the anniversary of Israel’s capture of East Jerusalem, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said the government will encourage Palestinian migration from Gaza and the West Bank and promote settlement in Lebanon.
- He defended tighter prison rules for more than 9,600 Palestinian detainees, saying inmates get only the bare minimum with no jam, chocolate, studies, deposits, television, or radio, as rights groups report abuse and medical neglect.
- The Knesset passed a law in March allowing executions of Palestinian prisoners, approved 62 to 48 with one abstention, and permitting death sentences by a simple judicial majority.
