Israel Hits Hezbollah Sites in Beirut as U.S. Details Scope of Strikes Across Iran

CENTCOM says nearly 2,000 targets in Iran have been hit since February 28.

Overview

  • The IDF launched a new wave of strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut, issued evacuation warnings, and, according to Lebanon’s health ministry cited by AP, left at least six dead and eight wounded with a hotel among sites hit.
  • Israeli forces said they also struck dozens of command centers, Basij facilities, logistics hubs, and launch sites inside Iran overnight, while ground units operated in southern Lebanon to create a buffer for northern Israel.
  • CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper said U.S. forces have destroyed 17 Iranian naval vessels, including a submarine, and conducted nearly 2,000 strikes, involving about 50,000 personnel, two carrier strike groups, over 200 fighters, and long‑range bombers.
  • Iranian missiles and drones continued to target Israel and regional states hosting U.S. assets, and Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry confirmed two drones hit the U.S. embassy in Riyadh with a small fire and minor damage reported.
  • CENTCOM reported six U.S. service members killed during the operation, while QatarEnergy suspended LNG production after drone attacks and airlines curtailed flights as regional aviation disruptions persisted.
