Islington Man Charged With 19 Counts of Voyeurism

Detectives urge anyone affected by alleged offences said to have run from 2020 to 2026 to contact the police.

Overview

  • Anthony Durkan, who was charged on Monday, May 11, faces 19 counts of voyeurism alleging he filmed women through the windows of their Islington homes in the early hours.
  • The Metropolitan Police publicly released details of the investigation on Wednesday, June 3, and said there is no information to suggest a wider risk to the community.
  • Durkan has been bailed and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 21.
  • Detectives leading Operation Paringa are appealing for other victims or witnesses to contact OpParinga@met.police.uk or to provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, and they say specialist officers will support anyone who comes forward.
  • The charges cover alleged incidents between January 2020 and March 2026 and, if proven, concern secret filming through residential windows that police say has raised alarm among local residents.
