- An independent review completed by Ireland's Department of Enterprise made no adverse findings linking alumina from the Aughinish refinery to Russian weapons manufacturers, the minister said on Friday.

- Officials engaged Aughinish, sought information from Sweden and Ukraine, ran their own research, and have submitted the full review to the European Commission while keeping the report unpublished.
- Aughinish provided data saying its alumina is not used for military purposes and is used only in aluminium for export from Russia, but the department said it could not independently verify those company records.
- Ukrainian officials urged the EU to consider adding alumina to sanctions or to use measures such as external management to stop any diversion of products while protecting local jobs and supply chains.
