Overview
- The Food Safety Authority of Ireland expanded its chicken recall Tuesday to cover Manor Farm and Western Brand items sold across major supermarkets.
- Officials on Wednesday confirmed extra Lidl fillet batches and several Inishella whole‑chicken lines with 12–13 April use‑by dates are also affected.
- Western Brand’s earlier alert named Aldi and Tesco “cook in bag” whole chickens from batches 26124-640 and 26125-206 with use‑by dates of May 13 and 14.
- Retailers have been told to remove the listed batches from shelves and to display recall notices at the point of sale.
- Consumers should check home freezers and avoid the products because salmonella can cause diarrhoea, fever, headache and cramps within 12 to 36 hours, with higher risk for the elderly, infants and people with weak immune systems.
