Overview
- A 20-year-old man was reportedly driven at and trapped against a wall by a white Volkswagen Polo just before 10pm on Friday, June 19, leaving him with life-changing open leg fractures.
- Brandon Mann, 20, of Goldsmith Road, Ipswich, has been charged with attempted murder and dangerous driving and is due to appear at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 22.
- A second attempted-murder suspect has been bailed to return to police on August 25 and two other 20-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs and later on suspicion of assisting an offender.
- Suffolk Constabulary cordoned the scene and says it is examining the vehicle while asking anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage to contact Ipswich CID quoting reference 37/35271/26.
- Local councillors called the incident shocking and detectives will use forensic vehicle checks, witness interviews at Martlesham and charged-or-bailed decisions to build the case and establish motive.
