Overview
- Clubs have reached agreement in principle for Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara to join Ipswich from Strasbourg with both players said to have accepted personal terms.
- The pair were reported to be due to undergo medicals on Thursday and the transfers were described as likely to be completed within 24 hours subject to those checks and overseas registration paperwork.
- French reports place Enciso’s fee at about £26 million, which would eclipse Ipswich’s previous summer high, while Ouattara is reported at roughly £14 million plus up to £3 million in add-ons.
- Both players are believed to be signing five-year contracts, with Enciso returning as a Paraguayan international familiar to Portman Road and Ouattara arriving as a 20-year-old versatile full-back and midfielder developed at Strasbourg.
- Neither player is expected to play in Ipswich’s friendly against Union Berlin and both are likely to join the full squad in England next week ahead of the Premier League opener on August 22.
