Iowa to Install NCAA Elite Eight Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena

Overview

• Iowa Athletics says it bought the Houston Regional Elite Eight court and will make it the new floor at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
• The installation is scheduled in phases from May 18 through June 6 for delivery, sanding, painting, sealing, and drying.
• The current floor, last replaced in 2016, has reached a normal end of its life cycle according to the university.
• The parquet layout will give way to a single-surface maple court from Connor Sports, with a similar look and a few fresh design touches as the venue keeps the Mediacom Court name.
• The outgoing floor will be saved for commemorative pieces, giving fans a tangible link to the program’s first Elite Eight since 1987 under coach Ben McCollum.
