- Interpol have released 'Iron City', the third single from their forthcoming ninth album This Mirror Weighs A Ton.
- Paul Banks says the song is a conversation between a human narrator and a future artificial intelligence and that he does not fear AI replacing art.
- The album is due for release on August 28 via Partisan Records and was produced by Andrew Wyatt and mixed by Dave Fridmann.
- The record uses strings, woodwinds, layered vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and experimental sound design to extend Interpol’s atmospheric sound.
- Interpol signed to Partisan earlier this year and will promote the album with a 23-date North American tour, an August festival appearance in London and a UK/European co-headline run with Bloc Party.
