Institutions Pull $1.94 Billion From Crypto Funds in Fourth Straight Week of Outflows

ETF redemptions have thinned liquidity despite positive year-to-date flows.

Overview

  • CoinShares reports $1.94 billion withdrawn over the latest week, extending a four-week total to $4.92 billion, the third-largest such streak since 2018.
  • Redemptions equaled 2.9% of assets under management, and together with price declines drove a 36% drop in total assets under management.
  • Bitcoin recorded $1.27 billion of outflows and Ethereum $589 million, with Solana down $156 million as XRP attracted $89.3 million of inflows.
  • Selling pressure eased late in the week as Friday brought $258 million of inflows, including $225 million to Bitcoin and $57.5 million to Ethereum.
  • Despite recent withdrawals, year-to-date net inflows remain positive at $44.4 billion, according to CoinShares.
