Overview
- Instagram, which announced the change Thursday, now lets users edit their own comments for up to 15 minutes after posting.
- Edits are unlimited during that window and an Edited label appears next to the comment, but viewers cannot see the original text.
- Only the text can be changed, so images, videos, GIFs, or avatar reactions in a comment must be deleted and reposted to modify.
- To make a change, tap the Edit option under your comment to reopen the text box and save the update.
- The change follows March tests and mirrors Instagram’s message-editing approach from 2024, with a global rollout that may reach users at different times depending on region and app version.
