Overview
- Instagram began rolling out the Grid Reordering feature on Monday, June 8, 2026, letting users long-press a post, tap “reorder grid,” and drag posts into any position on their profile.
- The tool is available only in the iPhone and Android apps and saves changes immediately so profile visitors see the new layout right away.
- Pinned posts and Reels stay fixed at the top of a profile and the feature does not change posting dates, captions, comments, likes, or other engagement history.
- The rollout is incremental, so some accounts and regions may not see the option yet even after updating the app.
- Instagram tested the capability with pilot users, and the company says the change responds to long-standing user requests to resurface older content, refresh aesthetics, and help creators and businesses highlight key work.
