- INS Sudarshini, commanded by Commander Ravikanth Nandoori, arrived at the Port of Baltimore on Friday, June 26, to participate in SAIL250 Maryland and Airshow Baltimore.
- Organisers say the three‑masted barque will remain at the Inner Harbour West Wall until July 1 to carry out maritime engagement and community outreach activities.
- The visit follows Sudarshini’s participation in Sail250 Virginia in Norfolk from June 19–23 and a transit through the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal en route to Baltimore.
- The ship is on the Lokayan 26 transoceanic voyage that left Kochi on January 20 and logged a trans‑Atlantic leg with a port call at Antigua on May 27 and more than 10,000 nautical miles sailed during the expedition.
- Built by Goa Shipyard Ltd, Sudarshini is a 54‑metre, three‑masted barque carrying five officers, 31 sailors and about 30 cadets and serves as a hands‑on sail‑training platform and a floating ambassador for Indian naval diplomacy.
