Overview
- Applications are open for a €1,000 payment per child born, adopted, or placed in pre-adoptive foster care between January 1 and December 31, 2026.
- Families qualify only if they live in Italy and the child is of an Italian or EU citizen or of a non‑EU parent with a long‑term, single work, or research residence permit that allows stays over six months.
- The bonus requires an ISEE used for family benefits that does not exceed €40,000, which excludes the Assegno Unico amounts and can favor larger families or those who own their home.
- Parents must file within 120 days of the birth, adoption, or placement, with a hard cutoff of August 12, 2026 for events that happened before the service went live.
- Claims are filed only online through the INPS website, the INPS Mobile app, the Contact Center, or patronati, and one parent applies, with the cohabiting parent filing if the parents live apart.
