INMET Raises Orange Storm Alert for Parts of Paraná as Severe Weather Threatens

Overview

• INMET upgraded warnings on Saturday to an orange alert for 69 municipalities in Paraná and issued severe-storm notices for Santa Catarina, warning of winds up to 100 km/h, heavy downpours and possible hail.
• Wider national alerts issued since June 18 continue in multiple states with forecasts of intense rain rates of 20–30 mm per hour or up to 50–100 mm per day in extreme cells and gusts commonly between 40–60 km/h.
