Overview
- Segments 1 and 2 of qualifying remain in the standard knockout format, while the pole-deciding Fast Six will be single-car, single-lap runs ordered from sixth-fastest to fastest from Segment 2.
- Each finalist receives one flying lap starting and ending at the alternate start/finish line, with the next car released only after the previous entrant returns to pit lane.
- FOX Sports expanded the qualifying broadcast to a two-hour window, with coverage set for Saturday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m. ET on FS2, FOX One, the FOX Sports app and INDYCAR Radio.
- If weather or changing track conditions create inequity during the single-car segment, INDYCAR can revert to the traditional timed Fast Six or use Segment 2 results to set the grid.
- Tire allotments and rules are unchanged for the event, and the series will evaluate the format after Arlington for potential use at other road and street races, with Sunday’s race airing at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX and partner outlets.
