Indy Classic Sets Dec. 19 Card: Purdue vs. Colorado, Butler vs. Georgia Tech

Purdue is using the event to bolster its NCAA resume by adding several marquee nonconference opponents.

Purdue and the Indiana Sports Corp announced on Thursday, July 16, 2026 that the Indy Classic will be played Dec. 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with Purdue facing Colorado and Butler meeting Georgia Tech.
Purdue also released its 2026-27 nonconference slate that includes Gonzaga in Las Vegas on Nov. 2, Tennessee at Mackey Arena on Dec. 11, and a home-and-home series with Iowa State to strengthen its NET and tournament resume.
The Purdue–Colorado game carries a family subplot as Purdue center Daniel Jacobsen is set to face his brother Eric Jacobsen, a freshman at Colorado.
Butler and Georgia Tech enter the Indy Classic under transition with Butler hiring Ronald Nored and Georgia Tech bringing in Scott Cross, and both programs reporting significant roster turnover.
Purdue created the Indy Classic after the Crossroads Classic ended and continues to use the neutral-site event to secure high-profile nonconference matchups; game times and television details are still to be announced.
