Overview
- Firefighters reached an industrial building in the 6400 block of South Archer Road in Bedford Park Friday morning around 8:30 a.m.
- Crews found two employees with burn injuries during searches inside and took them to nearby hospitals, where their conditions were not immediately known.
- A firefighter also suffered minor burns and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
- The blaze was brought under control about 9 a.m., roughly 30 minutes after the call.
- Officials are investigating the cause, and plant operator Ingredion said equipment on a dust-collection vessel caught fire as employees checked it.
