Overview
- Indian Railways has scheduled 1,244 Holi Special train trips from February 25 to March 18, with a stated contingency to expand the program to 1,500 trips if required.
- Priority corridors link metros with high-demand destinations, including Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur to Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Samastipur and Barauni, plus stronger ties across the Eastern and Northern routes.
- Zone-level rollouts include East Central Railway at 50 services/275 trips, Northern Railway at 48/204, and Western Railway at 32/120, alongside extensive links from the South and West to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
- Northeast Frontier Railway is operating 14 pairs for 128 trips and has announced three additional specials—Tata Nagar–Katihar, Agartala–Guwahati and Kishanganj–Lalkuan—on specified March dates.
- NFR says stations are adding water points, security, crowd management and help desks, and passengers are advised to verify schedules on IRCTC or enquiry counters and book only through authorised channels.
