Overview
- The Railway Board said 89 special trains making more than 100 trips will run over the next three days following widespread IndiGo cancellations, with divisions also publicising options at airports for stranded flyers.
- Western Railway announced seven special-fare services linking Mumbai Central with New Delhi, Bhiwani and Shakur Basti, plus Bandra Terminus–Durgapura, Valsad–Bilaspur, and Sabarmati–Delhi routes; East Coast Railway issued TOD specials and added AC coaches on select Rajdhani and Garib Rath trains.
- Southern Railway introduced special services between Secunderabad and Chennai Egmore and scheduled other specials such as Nagercoil–Tambaram, while adding AC three-tier coaches to multiple long-distance trains.
- Central Railway scheduled 14 Train on Demand services connecting Madgaon, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Hazrat Nizamuddin, with bookings via PRS/IRCTC and a note that more trips may be added.
- For Mahaparinirvan Diwas in Mumbai, Central Railway restricted platform tickets at 13 stations through December 7 with exemptions for vulnerable travellers, cancelled the weekly mega block for December 7, and operated overnight suburban specials to handle crowds.
