Indian Railways Commissions 472.3 Km of Kavach 4.0 in Single Day, Taking Coverage to 1,306.3 Km

  • The new rollout spans VadodaraVirar (344 km) on Western Railway, Tuglakabad Junction Cabin–Palwal (35 km) on Northern Railway, and Manpur–Sarmatanr (93.3 km) on East Central Railway.
  • The Railway Ministry says this is the largest single-day and single-month commissioning of Kavach to date, lifting Version 4.0 coverage to 1,306.3 route kilometres across five zones.
  • Initial services operated on the newly enabled sections, including the Dadar–Bhuj Sayajinagri Express from Mumbai and the Sasaram Intercity Express in the East Central zone.
  • Western Railway reports 364 locomotives fitted with Kavach, with work targeting Vadodara–Nagda by March 2026 and VirarMumbai Central by September 2026.
