Indian Railways Approves UdaipurAhmedabad Vande Bharat, To Discontinue Jaipur and Agra Services This Week

North Western Railway published the six‑day schedule with three stops and presented the change as a passenger‑focused link to Ahmedabad.

  • Railway Board approval is in place for a new Udaipur City–Asarwa (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat to be operated and maintained by the North Western Railway zone.
  • The service will run six days a week except Tuesdays as trains 26963/26964, leaving Udaipur at 6:10 am for a 10:25 am arrival and returning from Asarwa at 5:45 pm to reach Udaipur at 10:00 pm.
  • Commercial halts are set at Zawar, Dungarpur and Himmatnagar to extend premium service access along the corridor.
  • Existing Vande Bharat services 20979/80 (UdaipurJaipur) end on February 14 and 20981/82 (UdaipurAgra Cantt) end on February 15, according to NWR.
  • Railways highlights faster connectivity with a train capable of 160 km/h and AC chair car amenities, while local reports note concerns over the loss of direct Jaipur and Agra links.
