Overview
- The University of Lucknow centre was inaugurated on July 17 as the third hub in the national network established by 1M1B Foundation and Microsoft in partnership with MeitY Startup Hub.
- Telangana officials said a Hyderabad Centre of Excellence focused on Green Pharma will be operational by August and will train youth in AI applications for sustainable drug manufacturing.
- The five planned sites are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Noida and Shillong and the network sets targets to engage 100,000 learners by 2030 and create pathways to 50,000 jobs.
- Each centre will offer hands‑on learning zones for applied AI, solar and EV technologies, industry projects, internships, mentorship and incubation to link learners with employers.
- Microsoft will contribute technology and employee mentorship while 1M1B will run implementation and job‑linkage efforts, aligning the programme with state life‑sciences policies and Telangana’s Green Pharma City goals.
