India Moves to Door-to-Door Mop-Up After Pulse Polio Day as Pakistan Closes Campaign With 44.6 Million Vaccinations

  • Andhra Pradesh reported more than 5.4 million children immunised at nearly 39,000 booths on December 21, with over 76,000 teams conducting household follow-ups on December 22–23.
  • Pakistan’s December 15–21 national drive vaccinated over 44.6 million children, including about 22.9 million in Punjab and 10.6 million in Sindh, according to the National EOC.
  • Karnataka identified roughly 6.24 million children for this round and deployed 33,258 booths, 1,030 mobile teams, 2,096 transit teams, and over 113,000 vaccinators to widen coverage.
  • Early district results varied: Mysuru surpassed its first-day target with 225,128 children vaccinated, Visakhapatnam logged about 70.4% coverage by nightfall, and Anakapalli reported 94.59%.
  • Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh launched state campaigns with about 11,000 booths in J&K and planned door-to-door days to reach left-out, migrant, and high-risk populations.
