Overview
- The nationwide programme runs August 29–31 under the theme “Ek Ghanta, Khel ke Maidan Main,” with daily activities culminating in a mass “Fit India Sunday on Cycle.”
- The opening day features tributes to Major Dhyan Chand, a Fit India pledge and an hour of sport, and includes the President’s presentation of the National Sports Awards.
- The Sports Ministry says eminent athletes and public representatives will join events from state capitals to all districts to boost turnout.
- Gujarat will hold district and taluka-level competitions led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, launch Khel Mahakumbh registration on August 29 and mobilise multiple departments for statewide participation.
- August 30 is set for community debates, fitness talks and friendly contests in Indian and other games, coordinated by government bodies, schools and local groups.
