Overview
- Total domestic vehicle sales rose 29.8% year-on-year to 23.01 lakh units in February 2026, with overall production up 22.1% to 28.65 lakh units and exports increasing 28.2% to 6.08 lakh units.
- Passenger vehicle dispatches climbed 10.6% to 4,17,705 units, led by utility vehicles up 13.5% to 2,36,957 units, while passenger car dispatches fell 3.8% to 1,06,799 units.
- Two-wheeler sales surged 35.2% to 18,71,406 units, including strong gains in scooters and motorcycles, and three-wheeler dispatches rose 29% to 74,573 units.
- SIAM noted that passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers posted their highest-ever February sales, reflecting continued positive sentiment heading into March.
