Overview
- Leaders at the 3rd India–Nordic Summit in Oslo, held Tuesday, announced a Green Technology and Innovation Strategic Partnership.
- The upgrade covers clean energy, the blue economy and Arctic research, with India inviting Nordic defence firms to invest with 100% foreign ownership in its defence corridors.
- Both sides tied the push to recent trade deals, using the India–EFTA TEPA with Norway and Iceland and urging quick entry into force for the India–EU FTA that includes Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
- They issued a unified line on terrorism with a ‘no compromise, no double standards’ message and agreed to work at the UN and FATF to curb terror finance and recruitment.
- Finland will host the next summit, as the partners expand work on 6G research, STEM exchanges and talent mobility to link Nordic innovation with India’s market.
