Overview
- The exhibition, which opens Friday, runs through 9 July 2026 at Halle 7 in Hamburg with daily hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and tickets from €23.
- The experience uses 3D holograms, 360-degree projections, virtual reality headsets, and an interactive metaverse to rebuild Cleopatra’s Alexandria and key moments from her life.
- Visitors can explore catacombs, view a five-meter lighthouse reconstruction, step into the Battle of Actium, and finish with a VR sequence that depicts an earthquake sinking parts of ancient Alexandria.
- Organizers present Cleopatra as an educated strategist rather than a sex symbol, drawing on work by historians and support from Egyptologist Nacho Ares, Cleopatra scholar Dr. Chris Naunton, and interview insights from José Miguel Parra.
- The visit is recommended at about 90 minutes, the metaverse access is included in the ticket, all ages are welcome with under-12s accompanied by an adult, and a MOPO giveaway offers 3×2 tickets through April 18.
