  • Color‑coded warnings have escalated, with red alerts for parts of the Tamil Nadu delta on Friday and for several northern coastal districts and Puducherry on Saturday, and orange alerts extending to Chennai and neighboring districts through the weekend.
  • The IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls across Tamil Nadu on November 29, shifting to north coastal districts on November 30, with coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema likely to see very heavy to extremely heavy rain on November 30.
  • Sea conditions will be hazardous, with gale‑force winds over the southwest Bay of Bengal expected to peak at 80–90 km/h gusting to 100 km/h around November 29–30; fishermen have been told to remain ashore through December 1 and storm signals are hoisted at key ports.
