- D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event opened in Anaheim with the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion as the show floor centerpiece and Walt Disney Animation, Pixar and other studio pavilions also on display.
- The Horizons pavilion is Walt Disney Imagineering’s biggest ever and features large models, maquettes and animatronic figures including a 19-by-19-foot model of Piston Peak National Park.
- Disney will stream the Horizons: A Carousel of Progress presentation live on Disney+ at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 15, with Neil Patrick Harris hosting and Imagineers discussing project progress.
- Animation exhibits are showing film assets and tie-ins — examples include Frozen III costume displays, Hexed materials and a Lilo & Scratch short slated to play before Hexed — while Pixar teased future titles.
- D23 also confirmed the 2026 Disney Legends honorees and emphasized exclusive merch, photo ops and on‑floor fan programming that give attendees early access to projects now in design or construction.
