Illinois to Install College Football’s Largest Videoboard at Gies Memorial Stadium

The south-end display signals a fan-experience investment following Illinois’ recent surge on the field.

Overview

  • The new board is slated for the south end over The Horseshoe and measures 250 feet by 69 feet, exceeding 17,000 square feet.
  • Daktronics says the main display is larger than those used by 27 NFL teams and is just under the size of the Citi Field screen.
  • The installation will eclipse Auburn’s Jordan-Hare board by about 60 percent, taking over the top spot in college football.
