- Recent polling compilations show Darren Bailey leading a four-candidate Republican field that includes Ted Dabrowski, Rick Heidner and James Mendrick.
- An independent Emerson College poll conducted January 3–5 (n=1,000) put Bailey at 34.4% and measured Pritzker’s approval at 50.6% approve to 41.5% disapprove.
- That Emerson survey also found 46% of likely Republican voters undecided, while a Bailey campaign–commissioned Osage Research poll from January 20–23 (n=412) showed him at 57%.
- Illinois holds its primaries on March 17 for governor and a wide slate of statewide and federal offices, with numerous local referendums also on county ballots.
