Ilitch and MLB Launch Detroit SportsNet as New Home for Tigers and Red Wings

Subscriptions go live for a unified team–league service offering in-market streaming, with linear carriage to be announced.

Overview

  • Tigers and Red Wings fans can buy Detroit SportsNet now at $19.99 per month or $189.99 per year, with a $0 promo for Tigers games through April 1 for sign-ups made by March 22.
  • Tigers games will stream in-market on the MLB app starting with Opening Day on March 26, 2026, while Red Wings streaming begins in 2026–27 on a to-be-determined app.
  • Ilitch plans a separate linear TV channel in Michigan, with distribution and channel placements to be confirmed after ongoing talks with cable and satellite providers.
  • Tigers broadcasts are no longer on FanDuel Sports Network, and Ilitch ends its remaining FanDuel association after the Red Wings’ regular season concludes on April 15; fans must subscribe to Detroit SportsNet separately.
  • There will not be a single app for both teams, Pistons games are not included on Detroit SportsNet, and current Tigers and Red Wings broadcast teams are expected to remain in place.
