IDF Confirms Death of Reservist Ayal Bianco in Southern Lebanon

The loss highlights the growing costs of Israel's push to move Hezbollah fire farther from the border.

Overview

  • Sgt. Maj. (Res.) Ayal Uriel Bianco, 30, of Katzrin, was identified by the IDF as killed in combat in southern Lebanon.
  • Bianco, a firefighting vehicle driver in the 188th ‘Barak’ Armored Brigade, died in an engagement that also left one reservist moderately hurt and two lightly wounded.
  • The wounded from that clash were evacuated to hospitals, and the army said their families were notified.
  • In a separate incident, an explosive drone detonated where troops were operating in southern Lebanon, injuring eight soldiers with two in moderate condition.
  • IDF Division 98, with teams from the Paratroopers, Commando, and Givati brigades, is extending a security zone in the south as fighting with Hezbollah intensifies on the northern front.
