ICON Park Adopts Flexible Chaperone Rule for Guests 17 and Under

The move gives the open-air Orlando complex a flexible tool to manage large unsupervised youth gatherings.

Overview

  • Following a late-April teen takeover that drew more than 1,000 youths, led to fights, multiple arrests, and two deputies injured then released, ICON Park introduced a chaperone policy.
  • When enforced, the rule requires guests 17 and younger to be with an adult age 21 or older, and one adult may supervise no more than six minors while staying with them throughout the visit.
  • Parents or guardians may be held legally responsible for a minor’s actions, and the property says it does not assume responsibility for unattended minors.
  • The policy can be activated without notice across the entire complex, which has many access points that make fixed entry checks impractical.
  • Reporters advise families to check ICON Park’s website before visiting because enforcement is situational and could affect entry.
