Overview
- The Food Warehouse opened at Enterprise 5 Retail Park on Tuesday, May 19, creating 20 local jobs and opening with hours of 8am–10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am–4pm on Sundays.
- Early queues formed from about 5am and 166 people were reported ahead of opening as the store ran giveaways that included £1,500 in vouchers for the first 150 customers, raffles, air fryers and five 90-second trolley-dash prizes.
- Television presenter and Iceland ambassador Josie Gibson cut the ribbon, handed out items, collected donations for FoodCycle during the event and posed with shoppers and Bradford Bulls players who attended to support the launch.
- Iceland said it will donate £100 worth of food to FoodCycle every month for the next year and will run community offers such as a 10% Tuesday discount for customers over 60.
- The Food Warehouse format brings bigger layouts, larger pack sizes and value pricing to Bradford and this Idle branch is the chain’s third Food Warehouse in the city, offering an expanded product range for local shoppers.
