ICC Names April Shortlists for Player of the Month

The ICC, which named the shortlists Friday, listed Nahid Rana, Jatinder Singh and Ajay Kumar for the men’s award and Laura Wolvaardt, Imesha Dulani and Laura Cardosa for the women’s honor, with winners due in the coming days.
Bangladesh quick Nahid Rana earned his place after eight wickets in three home ODIs against New Zealand, including 5 for 32 and a Player of the Series nod in a 2-1 win.
Oman captain Jatinder Singh made the cut with 266 ODI runs in April at a strike rate of 115.15, capped by a 139 against Nepal in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.
UAE left-arm seamer Ajay Kumar impressed on ODI debut with 3 for 34 against Nepal and 6 for 35 against Oman, taking nine wickets at 3.66 runs per over.
On the women’s side, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt stacked up 138 ODI runs and 330 T20I runs in April, while Brazil’s Laura Cardosa delivered a first-ever T20I nine-wicket haul with figures of 9 for 4.
