  • Pakistan, which the ICC sanctioned Friday, lost eight World Test Championship points and 40% of match fees for being eight overs short in Dhaka.
  • Match referee Jeff Crowe imposed the penalty under rules that fine 5% and dock one point for every over a team fails to bowl on time.
  • Pakistan captain Shan Masood admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, and the team’s tally now stands at four points with an 11.11% points rate.
  • The offence occurred in Bangladesh’s 104-run victory in Mirpur, where pacer Nahid Rana took five wickets on day five to close out the match.
  • Pakistan now turn to Saturday’s second Test in Sylhet, with InsideSport reporting a verbal exchange between Shaheen Afridi and captain Shan Masood in the dressing room.
