IBM and ServiceNow Expand Alliance to Help Enterprises Run AI on Legacy Systems

It prepares enterprise data for AI readiness through legacy application modernization to enable agentic AI at scale.

Overview

  • The companies announced the expanded multi-year collaboration on Thursday, June 11, 2026, to combine IBM’s AI, data and automation tools with the ServiceNow AI Platform.
  • Joint work focuses on three solution pillars: application modernization, enterprise data governance, and autonomous infrastructure operations.
  • Planned technical integrations name IBM tools such as watsonx.data, Red Hat Ansible, Instana, and HashiCorp Terraform and Vault linking into ServiceNow’s Workflow Data Fabric and IT workflows.
  • Both firms said the first joint solutions are expected to be available in the second half of 2026, but they have not disclosed pricing, customer commitments, or tied the deal to near-term revenue guidance.
  • The partnership aims to let companies keep existing systems rather than replace them and to use ServiceNow’s large workflow surface—more than 85 billion workflows a year—to scale agentic AI across operations.
