Overview
- The International Baccalaureate published global May 2026 results on July 6, reporting 194,541 Diploma candidates in 157 countries, a global average score of 30.45 points and an overall pass rate of 81.26 percent.
- Final in-person exams were cancelled in the UAE and parts of the Gulf because of regional security linked to the Iran-related conflict, and the IB worked with national authorities to assess students using the established Non-Exam Contingency Measure, which combines internal assessments, teacher-predicted grades and external moderation.
- Only eight candidates worldwide achieved the maximum 45 points in the May session, while several schools in the UAE and India reported local perfect scores—Innoventures Education said four of its students earned 45s and Greenwood High named two India-based students with 45s.
- Cohort-level results show strong local outcomes: Innoventures reported a 100 percent pass rate, a 35.8 average and over $15 million in scholarship offers, and India recorded 6,265 DP/CP scores with a national average DP score of 32.78.
- Students, school leaders and UAE IB officials stressed that NECM-awarded results are full IB qualifications subject to quality assurance, and the scores have already translated into offers and scholarships from universities in the US, UK, Europe and elsewhere.
