Overview
- Police in Dixon said a black Mercedes SUV driver refused stops and swerved toward an officer before entering Interstate 80 near Pedrick Road.
- The SUV turned the wrong way on the on-ramp and became disabled, which led the California Highway Patrol to close all eastbound and westbound lanes.
- Backup from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office used pepper-ball rounds that broke the rear glass, and a K-9 with at least eight officers using shields and batons took the driver into custody.
- All lanes later reopened, with westbound traffic moving first and a partial eastbound lane following before the freeway fully cleared.
- The suspect was medically cleared and booked on charges that include reckless driving, assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, felony evading, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer, and police have not released his name.
