Hyundai Unveils Ioniq 3, a Compact EV for Europe With Sub-€30,000 Target

The new Aero Hatch signals a five-model push tailored to European buyers.

  • Hyundai introduced the Ioniq 3 at Milan Design Week in Italy, unveiling the Art of Steel design and an Aero Hatch shape as the first step in a Europe-focused lineup.
  • Built on the E-GMP 400-volt platform, the car offers 42.2 kWh and 61 kWh batteries with WLTP range from 344 to 496 km and 10–80% DC charging in about 29–30 minutes.
  • Hyundai Europe chief Xavier Martinet said the entry version will start below €30,000 to compete in the electric B-segment.
  • Inside, Hyundai focuses on space and daily use with a flat floor, a 441-liter boot plus a Megabox compartment, and it debuts Pleos Connect, an Android Automotive system with 12.9- or 14.6-inch screens.
  • The Ioniq 3 was designed in Europe and will be built in İzmit, Türkiye, with production expected to start in August and first European showroom arrivals in early September, while Italy’s launch is planned for autumn 2026.
