Overview
- Hyundai announced on June 5, 2026 that it will supply its largest-ever tournament fleet of 994 passenger vehicles and 506 buses to support transport across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- The company will field four customized Boston Dynamics Spot robots at the International Broadcast Center in Dallas and at MetLife/New York–New Jersey Stadium to perform autonomous patrols, real-time site monitoring and inspections using an Enterprise Asset Management kit.
- The passenger fleet will use models across Hyundai’s lineup — including Palisade, Santa Fe, Tucson, Santa Cruz, Kona, Sonata, Elantra, Creta, Creta Grand and Genesis GV80 — with hybrid electric variants on select vehicles.
- Hyundai says the vehicles will move national teams, officials, media and tournament operations staff, which reflects the logistical scale required for the three-country, 16-city World Cup starting in June 2026.
- The deployment builds on Hyundai’s 27-year FIFA partnership and its 2023 robotics renewal, giving the company high-visibility real-world testing for its robotics and physical AI efforts and the potential to influence future stadium security and mobility services.
