Hyderabad Water Board Books 19 for Illegal Taps, Schedules 18-Hour Supply Shutdown

  • HMWS&SB’s Vigilance Department filed FIRs against 19 residents in SR Nagar’s Thattikhana for alleged illegal water and sewer connections, with violations reported after recent road-laying in the area.
  • An 18-hour water supply outage is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday to fix major leaks on the 1,600 mm diameter Krishna Phase-III main from Peddapur.
  • Electricity Department work on the Peddapur feeder at the 132KV Kandi substation is scheduled during the same window.
  • Disruptions will affect localities including Malaysian Township, Madhapur, Kondapur, Fatehnagar, Gopal Nagar, Hafizpet, Mayuri Nagar, Miyapur, Pragathi Nagar, parts of KPHB and Balaji Nagar, ISB, the University of Hyderabad, BHEL areas and Chandanagar.
  • The board warned that unauthorized connections attract penal action and asked residents to report violations to Vigilance at 9989998100 or 9989987135.
