Hyderabad STF Raids and Nandyal Police Action Net Seven Arrests, 4.84 kg of Ganja

Police say NDPS cases have moved into follow-up probes on supply routes, including a reported Araku link.

Overview

  • Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department’s State Task Force conducted two Hyderabad raids, arresting five people and seizing 2.34 kg of ganja and 4.2 grams of hash oil.
  • In a Dhoolpet operation, officers arrested Jaya Bai, Dilip Singh and Sunita Bai at a Dilawar Gunj residence and seized 1.220 kg of ganja, with a case registered against additional suspects.
  • A separate STF check in Madhapur led to the arrests of K. Suryaprakash and K. Robert Antony Raj, the seizure of 1.120 kg of ganja and 4.2 grams of hash oil, and the confiscation of two phones and an autorickshaw.
  • In Nandyal, police arrested brothers Shaik Muneer Basha and Shaik Mahaboob Basha near the Prathama Nandi Temple arch and seized 2.5 kg of ganja, a Maruti Swift Dzire and two mobile phones.
  • Authorities handed suspects and contraband to the respective stations, registered cases including Crime No. 173/2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act in Nandyal, and are investigating a reported Araku sourcing link.
