Hyderabad Sets 36-Hour Water Disruption for Select Areas on March 7–8

Overview

  • - The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board scheduled the shutdown from 8 am on March 7 to 8 pm on March 8, a 36-hour window.
  • - Supply will be completely stopped to areas served by Transmission I and II and to the Shaikpet reservoir, with localities such as Manikonda, Kokapet, Narsingi and Manchirevula listed among affected zones.
  • - Some neighborhoods will receive reduced pressure during the works, with Bhojagutta specifically notified for low-pressure service.
  • - The disruption supports replacement of HT panels at Peddapur and concurrent repairs that swap air valves on the 1600 mm pumping main from Peddapur to Singapore and air vents on the 2000 mm gravity main from Singapore to Peddapur.
  • - HMWS&SB urged consumers in the named areas to conserve water during the maintenance period and announced no alternate supply arrangements in the notice.
